Top Apps for Cause & Effect Communication Part 2

We have a discussion on our Facebook Fan Page twice a day.  Margie had a question that resulted in a large list of apps for communication for a nonverbal child.  All of these are recommended by our wonderful followers.

Margie asked: "I have a wonderful son that is non verbal, with profound mental disability and I need a basic cause and effect app to help give him a basic form of communication starting with one word or very simple sentences. He can use hands but not his fingers. HELP?!"

This is the 2nd part of this list.  To see part 1, click hereThe list below is in no particular order.

Answers: YesNo HD by SimplifiedTouch

This app has been recommended by our readers a few different times.

From iTunes:
"The application is straightforward.   It has two, large, color-coordinated buttons...one for yes, and one for no.   Press either, and you will hear a voice read your selection. New in Answers:YesNo HD is the ability to create custom button pages which will allow the user to place custom text and pictures on buttons, record custom audio to play when the custom buttons are selected, and save up to 30 custom button pairs. Because of the ability to assign custom recorded audio to each button, Answers:YesNo HD will support any language the user is able to speak."

Quick Talk AAC by Digital Scribbler

From iTunes:
"Quick Talk AAC has been effectively used by individuals with autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, apraxia, and other special needs, both at home and in a school environment. There is a huge need for an assistive technology that can equip those who are non-verbal with the ability to communicate. Typical Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and apps are either too expensive or too complicated. We have set out to change this by providing an affordable solution to everyone with access to iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. We developed Quick Talk with the advice and guidance from experts in speech therapy, educators, and individuals who use AAC devices to pack it full of features, while keeping simplicity and cost in mind. The outcome is a one-of-a-kind app that we believe will change many lives."
