Top Math Apps For Teens Working At A Lower Level

There are a lot of early math concept apps that are decorated with cute monkey pictures, or images that you would associate with a young child. Teenagers may not necessarily take to that kind of interface, but still need those foundational skills. The following list of apps came from that discussion and are recommendations by our readers and staff.

McGraw-Hill Education

McGraw-Hill, who publish educational textbooks, has also branched out into educational apps. A range of apps are available, covering a range of school subjects and further education. The elementary math apps have been recommended for this list, but as McGraw-Hill has 15 elementary math apps (which could be a whole list in itself), I've only listed the apps for the four basic operations here.

One game is for counting only coins, the second counts only dollars, and the third combines coins and dollars. There are two game play modes. In practice mode the user must answer the question correctly in order to proceed to the next question.The user presses the check button after each attempt to check the answer. In quiz mode the user has one opportunity to answer the question correctly. There are two difficulty types, beginner and normal.
