With the coming of a New Year, we wanted to share some of the exciting plans we have for 2014!
Share a Good Free App of the Day at least 4 days a week. This will be an app which not only meets our standards of a great app to recommend but is also FREE! Some of these will be always free apps, while others may be free for a limited time only. So make sure you check regularly to make sure you don't miss a good deal!
More In-depth Reviews. We have started to roll out our new star system. Each review will contain the following breakdown:
- Purpose of App
- Suggested Audience
- Overall Rating
- Meets Intended Goal
- Worth the Price
- Ease of Use
- Educational Value
- Level of Customization
Provide Group Reviews. These will be reviews of apps from at least four or five of our staff members. You will be able to see thoughts and suggestions provided from our staff of speech pathologists, educators and parents of special needs children. To see what we have in mind, see our first ever group review of iTouchLearn Words.
Provide useful and applicable information via our Pinterest board. We have many boards from Behavior Management to Occupational Therapy to Speech and Language Apps and, of course, Top Apps. Follow us at www.pinterest.com/smartappsforSN
Starting #FollowFriday with our most active Twitter followers. For those of you who are on twitter, follow us at @SmartAppsforSN. This is another way to stay connected and learn about freebies, discounts, reviews and giveaways. Each week, the most active follower(s) will be mentioned using the hashtag #FollowFriday or #FF for short. It's essentially a shout out, a show of appreciation to you!
Twitter followers who reply to discussion questions, retweet posts from @SmartAppsforSN and tweet relevant content using our twitter handle will be acknowledged on a weekly basis. So what are you waiting for? Come join in on the fun!
Our 2014 Goals:
What would be a New Years' post without a few goals for the year. Our goal is to continue to grow in information provided to you, as well as the number of people we reach. We would LOVE to hit 15,000 or more followers on our Facebook fan page. We also plan to develop and grow our interaction with the various app developers who work so hard to produce the great apps to help children with special needs.
