Why make it harder at the holidays?

I am feeling the crunch this year, things are so busy and with three small children -- I don't have a lot of time to make the elaborate efforts I wish I could. It's really easy to get caught up in the spend and shop mode that commercializes a truly sacred season. I find myself pulled in that direction, and then I stop. I want the holidays to be about happy memories, smiling children and cherished traditions. By the time I get the last child to bed at night (and hoping they stay there), I am too tired to put two thoughts together! So, I greatly appreciate any shortcuts and creativity I can mimic in my very own way.

I have stumbled across two great lists the people at BuzzFeed put together.

What are your favorite short-cuts at the holiday time? Here's one of our family's favorites:

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies
Ingredients - Ritz Crackers, Peanut Butter, Dipping Chocolate, Wax Paper
Directions: Make Peanut Butter Sandwiches
Dip sandwiches into the liquefied chocolate
Allow sandwiches to harden on wax paper
You are welcome, because these are YUMMY!

Amanda likes the look and feel of do-it-yourself, but doesn't always have time - so she appreciates a short-cut every now and then.
