17 year old Nick Santonastasso - playing a Zombie and inspiring me all at once

I'll admit it, my ears and eyes are consistently attuned to stories of heroism and inspiration. I need happy; I need good, and so I find it wherever I can. My favorite stories are the ones that make you feel and make a smile spread across your face. Then, add in someone achieving these amazing things despite every obstacle that life has thrown at them, and I have goosebumps running up and down my arm. This is one of those stories, and I had to share it.
Meet Nick Santonastasso, a 17 year old High School Senior from New Jersey, USA. He is living life every single day. The Today Show did a full spot and write up on Nick, and it is nothing short of amazing. Nick recently helped make a video to work with the team of The Walking Dead to promote their upcoming social media campaign. Nick had been noticed through his viral Vines videos and his intensely positive attitude. You see, Nick was born with the extremely rare Hanhart Syndrome, which caused him to have no legs, an underdeveloped right arm and a left arm with one finger. Nick is so much more. Nick is a wrestler. Nick is a performer. Nick is a family member. Nick is a friend, and in my opinion Nick is an inspiration.

My favorite quote from the article read: "Sometimes I wish I was normal, to be honest. Then I look at what I'm doing and how many people I'm inspiring, and I'm pleased with what I'm doing. It's just that everyone has their bad days now and then".

Click here to read the full text of the article, and let us know if you were inspired as well.

And of course, here's the video where Nick pranked Norman Reedus, a star of  The Walking Dead.

Amanda doesn't care if you're playing a Zombie or a President, if you're defying all odds, you're inspiring in her book.
