You are capable of more than you know...
I was recently talking to a friend about her son with pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS). She was getting frustrated because he refused to try any new activity for fear of failing. If he didn't get it perfect the first time, he quit.
Though no one wants to see their child ever fail, it's important for them to realize that it is okay if they do. Let them learn to aim for the stars and push past the failed attempts. I love the idea that not only are my children capable of more than they know, but the world needs all that they can give.
Rachel H tried to teach her daughter to roller-skate. Instead, she ended up with a bruised tail bone and her daughter learned even adults can fail at things.
