Caring is really the first step to making a difference

Four and a half years ago I teamed up with some other amazing moms to form a non-profit foundation to raise money for research. Today we had our annual board meeting and we reflected on our growth. In that first year, we were excited to simply fund one small research grant. It felt huge. Now, four and a half years in, we have awarded $1.6 million dollars in research grants.

We are just parents who care a lot. That bring me to my short point for today: you can make a difference. If we all work to make the world better, through whatever manner we choose, things will change. Whether you are working for educational equality, acceptance, treatments, or any number of valuable causes, one person can make a difference.

It's like Dr. Seuss says: "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."

What are you doing small or huge to make a difference? Please share in the comments to inspire us.

Amanda is tired after a full day marathon board meeting, but it is a satisfied tired.
