Cupcake Digital, the developers of many great apps, released a brand new app this week. Sparky & The Case of the Missing Smoke Alarms is a great book to help young children understand the importance of smoke alarms. I haven't field-tested it yet, but it seems like a great option for kids who have issues with the loud noise in smoke alarms. There's even a video and dance to bring awareness about what to do when a smoke alarm sounds.
In true Cupcake Digital form, the words are highlighted as the story is narrated, it's easy to turn off narration, there's a page index to move easily between pages, and there's even a game. Sparky flies on a large smoke detector, collecting batteries and smoke alarms along the way.
