As we prepare for Thanksgiving, when we will stuff our faces with turkey and think of all we have to be thankful for, it seemed a good time to post a little list of some good apps about Thanksgiving and/or thankfulness.
In no particular order, here are some that I like:
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (Loud Crow Interactive) — The classic television special in an app form for a whole new generation. What better way to get your family ready for the holidays than Charlie Brown?
The Berenstain Bears Give Thanks (Oceanhouse Media) — The bear cubs learn about thankfulness and save a turkey in the process.
Gratitude Journal Lite (JI Software) — Keep a daily journal of the things that you are most thankful for. Includes inspiring daily quotes.
Butterball Cookbook Plus (Publications International) — Don’t have your menu planned yet? There are tons of apps out there to help, but I went with the old standard from Butterball. If anyone can help you come through Thanksgiving dinner unscathed, it’s them.
Turkey Toss: Angry Chef Gets Revenge (Luxshmi Investments) — A great time-killer while that bird is cooking.
Thanksgiving Turkey Dressing Up Game for Kids (Fun Apps Ltd.) — Keep your little ones occupied and out of your hair with this app from Fun Apps Ltd.
Hand Turkey (Jay Ayres) — Is it wrong that I love this so much more than the old-fashioned paper hand turkeys?
iPad only, Free
Thanksgiving Coloring Book! (Peep Software) — A list from me wouldn’t be complete without a coloring app. My princess would be offended at the oversight.
The Berenstain Bears and the Golden Rule LITE (Oceanhouse Media) — What better way to teach appreciation of others than by practicing the Golden Rule?
Thanksgiving: a Bon Appetit Manual (Conde Nast Digital) — For those of us who might need a little more help with the Thanksgiving feast. Or for those of us who really love looking at pictures of pretty food.
Days Until? (Stephen J. Mason) — "Mom, how long until Thanksgiving? How long until Christmas?" Now you can know to the day with one little click.
21 Days of Gratitude (Mentors Channel) — Twenty-one daily meditations about gratitude to take you straight through to Thanksgiving.
Save the Thanksgiving Turkey (Psycho Bear Studios) — It's like Jenga to save your Thanksgiving feast. But without all of the "friendly" family competition (or is that just my family?)
I will be spending Thanksgiving week enjoying my family (and probably stuffing myself silly).
Kelli is relieved that she is not responsible for cooking the turkey at her family's annual Thanksgiving feast. Her family probably is, too.
