I had the privilege of working at Respite Care for two years when I was at Colorado State University as an undergrad. I learned not only about kids with disabilities, but also compassion, love and acceptance. I knew for a long time that I wanted to work with kids with disabilities, and after working at this amazing facility, I learned how much acceptance and respite can help families. Twice a year, Respite Care holds a fundraiser to help support their continued support of the families in the Fort Collins area. Some day I hope to see a facility like this everywhere!
